Life of The Urban Bowler

Bowling has been in my family for many generations, its in my blood. I love the sport of bowling and everything it has taught me. I have gotten more mentally tough because of it and I will always be grateful for it. The typical bowler is one who is from a good background, nice suburban neighborhood with more than enough money to buy all of the bowling equipment (balls, shoes, bags, etc) that is needed in the sport of bowling. Not to mention the fact that you have to pay money to practice the art of bowling, usually ranging between 5-8 dollars a game depending on the alley. This is exactly why a lot of people from poor neighborhoods aren't professional bowlers, it simply costs too much. This is the reason why the urban youth doesn't have the opportunity to be involved in the bowling world. I came up in the bowling world in a different way. Bowling against people for money. This is how I got paid, gained experience in clutch situations, and found my love for the sport. I didn't do the traditional route to be where I am now in bowling, but I have every confidence that I can perform the same as people who did it the "traditional" way
